The Water Spirit is the culmination of Erin’s creative passions, which include sewing, quilting, art, handmade goods and nature.
She wanted to launch with her debut digital quilt pattern and add to her offerings over time.

THE Challenge
We wanted to launch a brand that would capture a niche space in the quilting market. Erin’s POV is centered around her inspiration from nature and its healing qualities, which heavily influence the fabric choices in her work. We wanted a strong brand presence to connect with her type of customer, and we also sought to weave in part of the brand’s mission to give back to charitable causes that she holds dear.
Erin reached out because she had an idea to launch her own creative business but didn’t know where to start. She has a passion for quilting and wanted to sell her own digital quilt patterns so others could create the same designs that her beautiful mind had come up with. I saw her as a true artist who would go on to offer far more than just quilt patterns, and I got the sense that she knew that too (but was too humble to admit it), so I wanted the business to be positioned to support her if she wanted to expand into handmade quilts or other goods down the road.
The essence of The Water Spirit is rooted in Erin’s love of nature and mystical ideologies. She feels an especially close connection to water, which has offered her healing during difficult times in her life, the moon, insects and bats (okay, all animals).
So we started with her brand identity and created something that fully embodies that inspiration. Her brand mark ended up being particularly special, which was hand-drawn to resemble a bat, moth and of course a “W".”
We then moved into print collateral for future product launches and partner collaborations.
We then planned Erin’s brand shoot and prepped for the website design. Her photos turned out beautiful, and we had great assets to work with when designing and building her Shopify website. View the live website here!
